The Evergreen Park youth baseball coach who blew the whistle about Jackie Robinson West using ineligible players — leading to the team being stripped of a Little League national championship — faces disorderly conduct, assault and several other charges in connection with an incident Tuesday morning in Evergreen Park, police said.
Christopher Janes, 39, of the 9100 block of Albany Avenue, also was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer and was cited for public intoxication and using threatening and vulgar language, Evergreen Park Police Capt. Pete Donovan said.
Donovan said police were called about 1:09 a.m. by a woman who said she saw a man standing by a car in the street north of her when she pulled into a driveway in the 9100 block of Utica. As she got out of her car, he ran toward her, so she ran into her house through the side door. She then heard banging on her front door, and the man was shouting loudly, swearing and demanding that she and her husband come outside, Donovan said.
The woman and her husband opened the door and did not recognize Janes, who lives one block over, Donovan said.
"They didn't know who he was," Donovan said.
That's when the woman called police, and Janes left the area, Donovan said. Police stopped him nearby, and one of Janes' arms was bleeding, Donovan said.
Donovan does not know how Janes cut his arm. Janes was uncooperative with police, Donovan said.
Donovan said he was unaware of any previous police calls in Evergreen Park that involved Janes.
Janes is due in court April 13 at the Cook County courthouse in Bridgeview, Donovan said.

there is justice in the world, even if it's just small battles like these. Made my night right there
