Basically Kiss was dissing Jay, and at the time Sigel said he saw the Roc was going through turmoil so he jumped in on Jay's defense thinking 1) It might help the label 2) If all else fails at least he separated himself as his own entity.
Styles and Kiss have always said Sigel kinda went at them out of nowhere because they had been mad cool with each other. That's why they were so mad during these disses because they're like "We know this nikka. WTF is he doing?"

I remember the beef started becuz Kiss was on Rap City and he was feeling himself and he said "The whole state of Philly got on for trying to sound like me". I remember it becuz I was on Sohh at the time and nikkas kept making jokes about Kiss flunking geography class due to Philadelphia not being a state. I know beans came out and said some shyt and that's when Kiss dissed Beans on his album.
I really don't recall no Jay and Kiss beef back then. All I know is the famous line "Pop shyt, apologize nikka just ask Kiss".
I could be wrong, but I'm just saying how I remember it.
Also, Bean murdered Kiss in they beef.

And Kiss was going at Jay heavy back then. That's when Jada first was going solo and was on the Mya best of me and Jay got Kiss taken off and got on there. Then he did the same thing with Fiesta remix with R. Kelly originally Kiss was on that song too and Jay sent a shot at Kiss (or perceived shot) at the beginning of the song. Jay saw Kiss was coming for his spot so he was pulling power moves at the time. That's when Jada was sending shots at Jay but Jay never responded. He dissed on the Fiesta freestyle with Styles and sent mad subliminal and shots at Jay on his debut album.
