It was never stated like that. It was some rumorish, "Word is the players got hookups from this Publix," in tweets mainly from Deion who hasn't been around Tally or affiliated with anyone at FSU in like a decade. It wasn't, "Yeah man, that Publix been hooking us up." No players on the team said that. In fact, Marquez White said something entirely different. That they couldn't eat from the training tables without their entire group being there, and it was only for 3 meals a day; so he wasn't surprised players were taking stuff. This was before the NCAA changed the rules in wake of the Napier fisaco. Also, people took pics and tweeted about Jameis buying crab legs at Winn-Dixie weeks before this Publix episode ever happened. Why would you go to Winn-Dixie to buy crab legs when you have the hookup at Publix which is much superior store? Makes no sense. What kind of hookup has you come into the store and be caught on camera, and has you walk out the front exit? Makes no sense. The whole hookup gone wrong angle makes no sense when you think about it objectively -- especially in the context that a lot of professors, board members, students, Tallahassee residents, etc. feel like the football culture is too big at the school. I had one famous professor at FSU that would start the class by saying, "What is this university for? Football!" And everyone would laugh. This wasn't years ago. It was in the spring semester. Someone who have been snitched if this had been going on for years.
Playing football in Tally definitely has its tangible benefits, mainly big booty women; but dudes don't have it like that. Mofos on the team wouldn't be stealing scooters and shyt left and right because they don't have cars, otherwise. Winston doesn't even have a whip. The NCAA is a highly exploitative system. Dudes are waiting on their pell grant money to buy necessities like a lot of students.
