It's like when Wentz came back Super Bowl MVP Foles went back to the bench because he's the back up period. Fitzpatrick is the back up. He's been in the league 14 years. He's not even close to a solution. If Winston isn't the long term solution then cut him or trade him but to disrespect him like this is disgusting. That's supposed to be their franchise QB and they're entertaining the idea of starting a backup over him. It's like CC said here with no hesitation you start him.

Koetter's coaching for his job, he couldn't care less about whether or not they're gonna pick up Jameis' 5th year option right now. He's gonna ride that hot hand until Fitz completely implodes (which he might in Chicago this week).

On top of that you got Bucs players coming out and saying Fitz is the QB and we gotta stick with him. Completely different situation from Philly where players went out of their way to reiterate that it was Wentzs team as soon as he was healthy.

First of all Jameis wasn't playing good enough before the suspension to automatically get his job back. He's been a bust for the last few years.

Right now Fitzpatrick has the hot hand. He's earned the right to keep starting. Now I would have him on a short leash. If he has another 3 INT half like yesterday, then you stick Jameis in there to see how he does.

If Koetter’s job wasn’t on the line I think Jameis would be back in there.

If Fitz craters this week against Chicago (which has a great chance of happening) then he’ll prob be in there after the bye

For the reasons listed in OP Jameis should be the starter ...

problem is that you have a coach who knows he's likely getting fired if he doesn't win this season so he's going to ride the hot hand.

Also would be easier if Fitz hadn't somewhat led a comeback yesterday ... even though he shytted the bed on the last drive and was the reason they were down.

So you're giving him one more half before you bench him?
