Yes! fukk penny-fy (spotify) and penny music (apple music)

ARTIST NEED TO GET PAID
:stopitslime: artists need to adapt, the money isnt from spotify/streaming, its from getting your music out to the masses more so than you could previously -- which is only doable viable streaming, and getting more tours, club appearances, merchandise sales than ever before. These artists especially horrible artists are making more money than ever in history.

If an artist wants to not do that, then they are in the wrong profession and should treat music as a hobby. Adapt or die.

It wasnt no more than 15 years ago you could get a B,C or marginal low A tier artist for $10,000-20,000 booking. Now they are in the hundreds of thousands. Even just club appearances artists be wanting $75+k.

You know why? Because of festivals. How do you get booked on festivals? Hit songs. How do you get hit songs? Spotify and apple music.

No that’s artist showing up to work

How is your music an asset when it’s only for penny’s.

Why does this system tell me, how much my art is worth?

No other industry does this shyt.

Cars go up and down, paintings go up and down on value

Why music is the only thing, that has no power like that!

The system is bullshyt, only people benefits is suits and adapt what?

fukk I need to do that, I’m the fukking reason they have to eat anything!

I’m the power not no fukking suit, who sits in the office and tell me when to drop.

This shyt makes no sense

Those things you mention is being on demand

What fukk is streaming without the artist?

An empty blood vessel, a fukking dead body.

It's a dope idea.

But it's gotten to the point where artists really don’t have a choice. Labels and the DSP's are devaluing music. And if you're a musician or an artist, you should be able to make a living with your craft. So people are being forced to come up with new ways to do that and stay in touch with their following. I love the idea of being able to serve your fans directly without the middleman robbing you. The indie path is going to pick up crazy steam over the next several years, and labels at some point are going to start shutting down.

They did it to themselves.

these artists getting paid more than ever, its just not in the way it was before.

I agree, so many artists, especially ones who continue to flop album sale wise but pop out with a hit every once in awhile continue to get paid more than in the 90s and 2000s. Shameful. Like coi leray. Shes getting paid millions of dollars a year currently, thriving career. But her album only sold 7000. You know what happens int he 90s and 2000s if you sell 7000 copies? Career is over. But with social media coupled with streaming, she will continue to have a career

No other industry does this shyt.

are you jobless? Every industry goes through shifts. Car industry as example once the internet became popular moved away (not currently after covid obviously) from trying to get high upsale on MSRP prices of cars(due to how easy it is to email multiple dealerships for best deal, etc) and instead focused on working with banks to get a % of the financing on the back end. Sell more cars = more people need financing = more profit than before because more people can afford cars (again pre covid)

The system is bullshyt, only people benefits is suits and adapt what?
Plenty of people on independent and major labels eating. Easier than ever to have a nice following with no label backing due to social media, you just in here tweaking.

This shyt makes no sense
it makes perfect sense. You release music, it reaches more people than ever before since people dont have to risk $20 to buy a cd they may not enjoy, and if enough people stream your shyt you can tour world wide :ld: how does that not make sense :ld:
