first off, thank god for teddy riley makin' new jack swing and thank god for janet gettin' jimmy jam and terry lewis for producin' this classic along with the classic rhythm nation album

i love the way her vocals are arranged on this song, like when she sings lead, it's like her background vocals were layered in a certain manner to capture one part of her singin' in one moment, amazin. that damn jimmy jam and terry lewis were on the money this

the best way i can describe this song is clean. the overall sound is so clean that it's squeaky

the music video was excellent too, nice nod and tribute to the 30's and 50's musicals; even had the late greats cab calloway, the nicholas brothers, and cyd charisse in it

janet in like 89' and 90' was on another whole level

yeah, monte monir produced the hell out the pleasure principle and jimmy jam and terry lewis did the same with alright

like sonically, sound-wise it's just sheer perfection. the clarity and crystal clearness of it. the sound has a gleam to it
