not that fans can go last I heard but the state department issued a warning against going to Japan this week
Japan already announced at least a month ago that there would be no international fans. They were undecided on allowing domestic fans. But with athletes + coaches + support staff + officials + dignitaries you're still talking something like 50,000 people or more from every country in the world mixing together and then going back to reinfect their homelands.

Always:mindblown:

Was living there during the fukkedshima incident and couldn't believe the incompetence:wtf:

The thing that gets me is that obviously as a society they are incredibly compliant. If vaccine is.available most would take it immediately. Maybe they're trying to kill.off.their elderly smh

Most definitely. The Olympics are just over two weeks.

That's a long time to play lotto and risk your livelyhood, but you know people are.

30 for 30 coming soon :francis:

It's due to unnecessary Japanese government bureaucracy + COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among some Japanese people because of the HPV vaccine.

"The HPV vaccine has been a political lightening rod in Japan, where claims of side effects prompted the government to halt active recommendation of the shots in June 2013".

The Olympics are scheduled to start on July 23, so that's 8 weeks from now. That's plenty of time for athletes, coaches, staff, etc to get fully vaccinated.

"IOC chief Thomas Bach said he believed more than 80% of residents of the Olympic Village would be vaccinated or booked for vaccination ahead of the Games set to start on July 23."

Everyone beat COVID last year, America is the only fukk up. except the cooked numbers from places like Japan, China, russia, oh and I guess Brazil and India don’t count because they’re not “rich” counties, oh wait, all the rich European countries with their free medicine on waves 3, 4 and 5 and still on lockdown...yea, only America handled it poorly

look at the leaders of the countries you listed.. all strong-man types that are more concerned with appearances than actual solutions to problems. boris johnson wanted to get injected with covid live on T.V to prove it was harmless, he later visited a covid ward without a mask or gloves.
