He really should have his jersey retired by the lions. 21 years. Dude survived literally the worst season in NFL history and was STILL nailing FGs...Why? Because it was job. He went in 16 times a year, and did his job when nobody, from the owners to the tackles to the popcorn vendors was doing their job right. He lasted years in that carpet turfed pile of garbage the Silverdome (I PLAYED ON IT, IT BLEW), and had a coach that gave the opponent the ball in overtime, because he trusted the defense more than he trusted the offense to give HIM a chance to win. Jason Hanson is the ONLY CONSISTENT THING in the history of that franchise.
