Xbox is the canary in the coal mine. AAA gaming is not going to exist in the future besides a handful of major franchises. Sony are struggling to put out regular product. One new Rockstar game every two consoles at best. shyt is scary out there.

Gaming is like movies now where a studio pretty much needs an established IP or brand if they think they're gonna get sign-off on a big AAA budget.
This is pretty much a big reason why every publisher wants their own successful live service game, because not only are they lucrative, but they're cash cows that keep them afloat while game development becomes increasingly more expensive and risky.
It's obvious Apex and FC are keeping the lights on over at EA.
