I don't know anything about Baucham except that every time I see a racist far-right white christian online trying to prove that they're not racist, they post something from voddie baucham and talk about how amazing he is.

I...just...I mean how do you end up like this as a person? I just wanna know how some of these extreme c00ns end up that way?

I've seen two main paths.


#1. Be an extreme contrarian by nature, who tends to doubt the conventional wisdom of the people around them as a matter of course. Say something slightly controversial that other Black people around you don't like. Some of them criticize you, while some other contrarians or white outsiders agree with you. Changing your mind based on the criticisms of your peers would feel weak and lacking integrity to a contrarian like you, so you double-down and go further than you did before, pissing people off even more. Over time, the rush you get from feeling unique and different and enjoying the criticism, or the rush you get from being a hero to the minority who agree with you, causes you to go further and further off the deep end.


#2. Be a conformist and happen in live or work entirely among right-wing white people. Since having a strong non-white ethnic identity is considered "wrong" in your group, you ignore your own identity in forming your positions, considering your shared values or whatever to be more important than your skin color, and instead conform to the exact same views your peers have. The longer you do that, the farther you go.
