First off he obviously can rap well. He's a talented lyricist, there's no denying that.
But I don't see how he stands out from the sea of "lyrical" or "conscious" dudes, or how he had Puffy and Jay Z co-signing him and mainstream rap fans waiting for a major label debut.
I mean everything about him is
He's almost 40 and was in his 30's when he debuted
He's a dusty bum ass dude...like literally a bum.
His rhyme style is nothing new at all. He sounds like or does a style very similar to Killah Priest especially, or many other Wu affiliates, Afu-Ru, Army of Pharoahs, Jedi Mind Tricks, Cannibal Ox, Kemetic Sunz, Pharoah Monch, Rakim, Jeru, or dozens of other mostly underground "knowledge droppin'" rappers
He talks all that Illuminati conspiracy bullshyt which is easily debunked by a little historical/political research. We do have the internet now.
He talks all that 5 Percenter gibberish. Don't get me wrong, the 5 Percent Nation has contributed a lot of value to hip-hop and it wouldn't be what it is without it. But seriously who still believes in that shyt in the 21st century?
Artists that don't sound current enough in hip-hop never prosper and everything about this guy is straight out of 20+ years ago. A dusty flabby old loudmouth knowledge droppin' conspiracy theorist 5 percenter scientifical miracle lyrical dude that sounds like he should've been featured on a Sunz of Man mixtape in 1995.
