this the 1 jay z album that now doesn't get the credit it deserves these days
i remember like it was yesterday when this album came out and how popular it was
hard knock life (single) was everywhere. every block in the hood, you heard that shyt
money cash hoes with dmx, the nikka what, nikka who single
before those singles too, jay had been on jd's money earlier that year which was a big single too
plus, he had what was originally ja rule's song with can i get a (also on that rush hour soundtrack)
but the album had some great album cuts; a week ago, it's like that, if i should die, coming of age, reservoir dogs and paper cash
then they even threw 1 of my favorite tracks from streets is watching soundtrack on there, it's alright

this is the album where jay z became "jay-z" and the stars aligned for him and he found his voice as an artist

Vol 3 (which is the one that doesn't get the love) is better. Never liked this album. Better than kingdom come, BP3 and MCHG though.

yeah, vol. 3 was good just not as "pop" as vol. 2 (and i'm not sayin' that like it's a bad thing at all)

come and get me off of vol. 3 was my shyt. hova song intro and outro, it's hot, and so ghetto was another. throw ya hands up is a classic. oh yeah dope man too

vol. 3 was the last time jay was like, really spittin' for real. he seemed to get a bit lazy after that

I remember buying Vol. 2, Vol. 1 and Reasonable Doubt in that order. Jay was changing up my whole Playlist, had all 3 if those Joints in my Headphones :ahh: and then Vol. 3 came out bad I was seriously deep in thought listening to it for like a Week trying to find the actual sound of the album but it just seemed so random. Vol. 2's success was Great and all, also a great Rap Album but Vol. 1 still remains my Favorite.

I know pop you can't stand us cause you cock them hammers
Run in your crib, no prisoners, pop your grandma
Locked in the slammer? Nope, popped up in Atlanta
Crossed up in a drop I popped up the antenna
Whoa.. watch your manners when my veins pop like scanners
Like raindrops you hear the thunder when I cock the cannon
Big thang, big chains, ain't shyt changed
Get brained in the four dot six Range
shyt main, switch lanes
every town I hit, switch planes, bytch flipped big caine
Flow with no cut, you take it in vain/vein to the brain
Muh'fukas is noddin and throwin up, you know that
You don't wanna owe that man
He'll hit you, get the picture? Kodak man
Gotta, love for war, I don't floss no more
I just sit on my money til I'm above the law
How the fukk you gonna stop us with your measly asses
We don't stop at the tolls we got EZ passes, nikka
Multiple cars and divas with D-classes
Iceberg sweat with I.B. on the elastic

:whew: One of my favorite verses from Jay. Everybody talks about Sauce and Jada's verses on Reservoir Dogs, but he went off as well
