:ohlawd:if clipse had gotten that beat.

lol. Those dudes had some really high moments as a group but they aren't on Jay's level. You've heard "Life Change" right? People were salivating for that record after they heard the beat & hook. But why do the lyrics sound so limp & cliche compared to "Allure"?
"Life Change" almost made me feel sad because at that point I had bought into the hype & really hit me that either they fell off or they were always a little overrated.

Georgia, Home of the trillest
In Jay's defense the Allure beat is kinda moist and emotionally tinged. Hard to really lock in on something like that when the producer is all up in your face on some :noah: :noah: :noah:
Plus usually Pharrell gave Jay more groovy type stuff so he wasn't expecting to hear dude play him the theme music to "The Young & The Restless".

It wasn't that Jay thought the beat was weak, it's just that a real n!gga has to take that one home and sit with it for an hour or two before deciding if he can f^ck with it.

Allure is a dope song but Pharrell talking chords, like Maj7s aren't as common as breathing air :rudy:
