how u gon pick hovi baby over d'evils hovi baby is a great verse but it probably wouldnt make my top 10 jay verses in 2000s, even my favorite of 03

As for the naS portion of your other post, im not being overly picky, when you use IMAGERY youre creating an IMAGE. The image of someone unfolding a scroll is beyond stupid. Its not my fault that neither nas nor his listeners know what a scroll is and further goes on to prove my point.

But "unfolds" makes sense because you were able to deduce that the word he should have said was "unrolls" - had he said something like "I consume the scroll" in place of unrolls - that wouldn't have made sense.

Youre really reaching trying to get a W out of this. Jay didnt use uneccessary words, uneccessary would be like if he did what naS does and add life after trife to make a multi with the previous line.

But that's exactly what he did. fukking was completely unnecessary. It was only there to make a multi with fukking life/Nothing Nice.

He threw an extra word in there to make it rhyme. That's exactly what you are criticizing Nas for. You need to apply that criticism equally. The fact that you have refused to do so thus far - weakens your whole line of reasoning for criticizing Illmatic.
