I came in thinking easy Jay victory, not realizing that RD and Vol.1 were not included in this.

I mean it's still Hov, but it's a lot closer than I initially thought. Not the biggest fan of most of Jay shyt post vol 1.

Drake, stop this.

Drake has way more hits than Hov. You can’t go out to any spot or function and not hear Drake’s music and these are not even his whole catalogue - these are joints that came out over 10 years ago that still get regular play and that’s just up to WATTBA. One Dance is basically a summer anthem and will be played forever .

Hov definitely has better albums, albums more well regarded and “definitive” hip hop classics but it’s mostly nikkas like us that are true hip hop heads still spinnin old Hov albums but you not really going out and hearing Jay’s records like that anymore.

But Jay set out the blueprint for someone like Drake. One thing Drake took from Jay for sure is the legendary “life relatable” quotes. Hov was always known for those and Drake utilized those types of bars for quotes in the social media era. He always had multiple lines people would reference under their posts
