Why are people penalised for crossing wherever they want?

Talk about over regulation.

People all over the world manage to cross the road with no problems but Americans need designated crossing areas.

Just yesterday; this lady crossed the street looking down at her phone.

The light turned green while she was only half way across in a 45 mph road.

I wish she would get a $150 ticket cuz shed sue if I hit her.

Ppp just need to understand the concept of a cross walk is the safe way to cross the street.

Nah, if anything it need to enforced more often to be straight up. It's one thing if you got a kid in a stroller, got a problem with your knees or legs or 70 years old that one thing but if you have nothing wrong with you and jaywalking on a two lane highway, you are an entitled sucka.

I can't tell you how many times I been and cussed out by people who were jaywalking because I barely slow down. That not my fault and I'm not going to get rear ended by someone because your ass can't jog to the other side. And all the incidents happen on a street or highway where the speed limit was 40 mph.

99% of the time common sense and being alert make Jaywalking not so dangerous but there are some streets where you just asking to get hit if you jaywalk. I was in LA a few weeks back and I was trying to cross a Street looked both ways like I think I'll just use the crossing path

I know but common sense isn't always common amongst everyone. In some of these bigger cities Jaywalking laws are critical. You don't want a 10 car pile up cuz some nikka wanted a cheeseburger so bad he didn't wanna walk a few more feet.
