The Utah Jazz have implemented a new arena policy that bans all fan-made signs inside the Delta Center, according to a report published Tuesday by Sports Business Journal. The organization confirmed the change as part of a broader effort to regulate in-arena fan conduct and streamline the game-day environment.

SBJ reports that “a number of Utah fans have ‘expressed disappointment’ about a new policy at the Delta Center that does not allow signs, but Smith Entertainment Group believes that it was a ‘positive change for a less-vocal majority, citing research that reflects that,’ according to Brogan Houston of the Deseret News.”

In the report, Smith Entertainment Group “did not ‘point to any particular reason for the change,’ but stated that their goal is ‘simply to make events positive experiences for the most fans possible.’”

Some season-ticket holders sought additional clarification. According to the report, “when season ticket holder Brock Roberts reached out to his season ticket rep, he was told that the decision was made ‘to ensure the most optimal viewing experience for all attendees of the Delta Center, especially with the both recent and future renovations to the arena.’”

Jazz sign ban aligns with broader league trend during early-season skid

On one hand, these tickets cost so much nowadays, regular fans who would make funny and unique signs can’t even afford to go to games anymore. You also add in most of these home crowds sound absolutely pathetic now due to what I just said about cost…this just makes the viewing experience worse.

On the other hand, Utah fans (crackers) have no leg to stand on against this being implemented given their very unique over the top racist history. They lost their privilege to do this stuff a long time ago. So I don’t feel bad for them at all.

I can see both sides of this, but I can say that over the years, fans have gotten worse and worse with what they say and how the act at games. The team is going to do what it needs to protect the product and environment in the arena. They aren't trying to have young children and some super religious people out there not want to attend games because some people are going far over the line.

I can tell you from going to many Patriots games over the years, that the stuff fans say and they way they act has gotten worse over the years. It's the combination of alcohol, fantasy sports, social media, and now gambling. That's why if you have season tickets, you only sell to people to know won't be idiots there or you sell them on Ticketmaster which the NFL approves as you can lose your tickets if someone you sell them to gets kicked out unless it's through an NFL approved site.
