you should know the name at least, you don't have to recognize his face, but the name of the richest person in the world shouldn't be foreign to you at that age. it's just a reflection of what info these kids are consuming. no kid who reads the news or even watches the news wouldn't know the name bezos. you might want to say people don't read the news anymore, but if the result is kids can't even recognize names that are in the news then that's not a good path we're headed down. and this isn't about lauding him and or wanting the kids fawning over him because he's the richest man, he and his company are in the news for negative shyt too.

When we was coming up, everyone knew who Bill Gates was.that’s all it boils down to plus what’s deemed as “important” to kids nowadays...if I were still teaching and I asked the kids to raise their hands if they know who jeff bezos is...I’d be surprised to see more than 5 hands go up in a class of 30...and that would include white and asian kids as well...many kids nowadays are very dense about the world around them outside of music/reality television
it’s also ironic that the internet/social media has them more detached from the world even tho it should expose them to it more as far as shyt that is happening
