I’ve read a good portion of this thread and I understand the popular opinion in here. I’m with y’all on being disappointed in her co-signing anti black male articles. I think she does mean mean well but it’s hard not to side eye some of the shyt she says. I think she genuinely loves black men though and her criticism isn’t coming from a diabolical place like many of the “Shea butters”.
When the news of her leaving sportscenter dropped I read a couple of articles written previously about her, mike and the rebranding of the show. One of them covered a lot of her past specifically and was more personal. As disappointed as I still am about what she did I just can’t bring myself to hate on her. It’s the combo her meaning well (once again jmo) and the pure hatred that she elicits from racists. As we see again with the clay Travis article she’s become a money maker for white supremacists. shytting on jemele Hill brings these racist websites guaranteed hits every time. She’s become a target and a symbol for what’s wrong with this country to the maga crowd.
So yeah I can’t get with wanting her to fail. I want her to succeed and refrain from co-signing Shea butter trash in the process. I’m not tryna flip anyone over to the side of wanting her to win. I do hope some of y’all reconsider publicly shytting on her. This is a woman who’s mother was raped and who was almost raped herself. Like I said I don’t believe she has anything against black men but if she doesn’t feel protected then consider it’s probably deeper than “black men don’t speak up for me when racists send shots”.
I think if everyone here could sit down with her and discuss the issues brought up in this thread 99% of the people here would realize within 5-10 minutes that we’re all on the same side.
