Goddammit. Just got to work n saw this.
No lie I was at my parents' place this past weekend n saw the '87 all-star Saturday VHS tape sitting in the collection. That was when an unknown Kersey came outta nowhere n challenged Mike for the crown. I remember Rick Barry, color commentating, had him as his dark horse before the competition even started. Prolly watched that tape 200 times as a kid.

Dang...I just watched him in that Sam Bowie doc on SECN. Not even low key, Blazers had mad talent back then...too bad they had some all-time squads in their way, though.
As an aside, I'd never seen the actual injury that basically triggered all those leg problems later in Bowie's career. No wonder it did...that looked so awkward and painful.

Jerome had crazy Hops,and he dunked the ball like he was trying to break the backboard everytime.. Kersey,Buck Williams and Duckworth used to wreak Havoc in the middle.. RIP

I remember watching a playoff game against phoenix and Kersey got a nice pass from Terry Porter on the break and the dunk was so ferocious that it seemed like he would tear the rim off. Had me like 
One year he almost won the dunk contest I forget which one..
He was powerful.. The perfect Small Forward.
