The thing with Hannibal is that he is an actor/comedian and not so much a comedian/comedian. Dude's podcast used to have me dying, and his work with Eric Andre was hilarious. Yet, when he does standup . I was telling my wife and son the meaning of being a comedian, since they always talk about me doing standup. Being a comedian is all in timing, finding the audience, and etc. You can be the funniest man in the world, but god awful on the stage. That's where Hannibal falls in. Dude is naturally funny, but not "I'm going to buy tickets to see this dude live" funny.
