jibble as a heel > triple h as a heel imo

both were hated but jesus looking back, his promos weren't the same boring thing...dude could talk about anything for five minutes and rile up a crowd to the point of wanting anyone, even Matt HARDY, try and beat him

Da gawd

This is why the marriage of right character/right wrestler is so important.

JBL really wasn't much in the ring at this point (definitely not from 2008 on), but he was such a b*stard through and through, from the way he walked to the way he talked (his voice just drips condescension and contempt in those promos) and the way it contrasted with the way he wrestled (he had exactly two good moves: The Clothesline From Hell and those stiff as hell corner punches, and they were exactly what a deeply conservative, 6'6", condescending a$$hole would use to fight with) just worked so well looking back.

Now, I have ZERO desire to see him wrestle again, nor do I regret that he retired, but it was a perfect example of getting the absolute most out of not very much. WWE could learn something from this (Are they even using a tenth of Dolph Ziggler's potential as a performer?)

I hated this mothefukker :pacspit:

Looking back though that means he did his job well. Most heels try to be cool rather than be hated now a days.

I love that JBL actively avoided this. He even said that he'd make an effort to switch it up whenever he felt he was slipping into cool heel territory and get as much heat as possible. It's not going to work for everybody, but I really wish more people made this effort.

Exactly! Back in 2004 I was blinded by my Fandom of Eddie Guerrero, and the fact that JBL didn't do "cool moves" to realize to give him his props.

Just the view count on these videos is telling of how underrated his character is. JBL is probably the most underrated WWE character of 21st century. Even Hassan has a cult following. JBL; not so much. I will be honest and say that I myself didn't enjoy watching him take the top spot because I felt that he was just one half of a midcard tag team and was boring to watch in ring. He came off as someone who really believed all the hateful stuff that he said. But now years later separating my emotional reaction from just JBLs promos I have grown to appreciate how good of a character JBL really was.

Ill always highly regard JBL as the best heel of this era. Dude went from straight random bummy tag team wrestler(he never did anything for me in ApA) to a guy who I legit lol'ed at how mad he could make crowds. Like its been said before dude has the texas oil man borderline racist swag to a T. The sad part is he would be absolutely neutuered on the mic in this day and age. To think it was only 6 or 7 years ago when he was talking about deporting mexicans. I dont know if I could even call the shyt cheap heat, it was just crazy how he could get peeps to hate him so loudly.

I salute him, he is probably the last great legit heel we will see.

He also never looked like a bad ass mind you, hes a big ass dude who could wreck shop but he stayed getting his ass whooped and copping pleas. Anyone remember when Taker busted him through his limo roof and he came out next smackdown in a damn traction head piece:krs:

shyt makes me wish I could find his whole run on tape somewhere.
