It's not just about saying something that was said before. It's the context of the phrase and the fact that jay used it under the radar, and tried to pass it off as his own hot line that makes it biting.

For example, if I say "I got 2 kids and 3 babymommas, don't ask me how" you know exactly where I got it from. Yeah I changed the line up a bit, but I'm just rehashing a line that I heard before. DMX used the phrase in this context first and jay-z followed. I don't see how that's a reach at all.
