I can remember back when Jim Jones was on 106th and Park and his video for the Ballin' joint had made it to number 1 and Jay's music video was number 2. Jim Jones was on there saying "Jim Jones is number 1, Jay-Z is number 2". That n*gga was sh*tting on Jay so bad that, it was hilarious. :russ:

But when he came out with this joint, dissing Jay-Z, it was the epic. What made it so epic was because Jim Jones wasn't even on the level of popularity in the Pop world or mainstream as a "Jay-Z" type of emcee, yet with that one great song, Jim Jones was becoming popular in his own right with a classic song. Plus back then, Jim Jones along with Max B's help (cause he did write some of those hooks) he was able to craft some good albums with "Hustler's P.O.M.E." and especially "Harlem: Diary of a Summer".

This remix joint where he was sh*tting on Jay-Z is epic. Jay was trying to come back on some "grown man" sh*t but instead he was :flabbynsick:

Jim even released a much better album than Jay did in 2006. Jim's "Hustler's P.O.M.E." is by far a better album than Jay's Kingdom Come.

Some good joints off of "Hustler's P.O.M.E.":

(The joint "Reppin Time" at the end is epic)

POME was great, I enjoyed it a lot. That was the second best year Dip Set ever had. Jones was everywhere even though VL2 is his best work.

Jim Jonea was persistent, we thought he would vanish after we fly high remix came out, Tru life got signed and stomped him out multiple times, no cam etc but he came back with pop champagne although the album flopped.

Jim Jones lost... he contempleted doing a song with Somaya Reese and has played himself by playing the role of house husband on a wack ass reality show.

Not really, he won actually because Jim Jones back in the late 90's was more of a hype man for Cam'ron:

But since the mid 2000's, that cat has put out a couple of good albums (the "Harlem: Diary of a Summer & Hustler's P.O.M.E." albums) and been able to do his own thing without having to constantly rely on Cam'ron to do so. The reality shows are a win win for him now because he gets paid and he's able to still promote himself.
