I don't get the JJ Watt hate. He is a beast on the field and he needs to make money outside of football. Honestly if I was that loved by the media I would take advantage of it. The more they love you the more revenue you ultimately make. I found him trying to check into the game pretty funny and I would do the same if the Rockets gave me a jersey.

This isn't bad but I can't lie, JJ Watt irks me for some of the reasons already listed. He obviously loves the attention for being the "hard working player" and he doesn't miss an opportunity to wallow in it. Like that Mettenberger shyt was what turned me off from all this Watt nonsense. How you gonna get in another player on another team's business just because he's not like you? Oh well that's right, the media has anointed you patron saint of hard work and professionalism so you may therefore cast down your judgments on whoever else. This whole deal with jokingly trying to check in to the game I think just reminds people that Watt thinks he can do or say anything he wants because he's reached such an elite level of media protection, that all people will do is just laugh at his silly shenanigans.
The worst part about this though is that we know how the media (especially sports media) is. They are just waiting for some bombshell to come out about him so they can tear him right back down. It's a bigger story when he's your "Aw shucks" lovable corn-fed hard-working white savior out here raping women or something (or whatever will eventually come out about him) than it is for anyone else
