I accepted a help desk position to relocate to Houston on contract at $18 an hour, then today i get a 2 month contract(with possible extension) offer at $28 an hour to stay in Baton Rouge.

Pros and cons to both of course.

Going to Houston = Latin bytches

Staying in BR = More money, getting to stay close to family and friends

Houston will still be there down the road :patrice:

Im split brehs

what industry? I've been thinking of going to Houston because of the energy industry...
Back to your topic.
BR sounds pretty no brainer to me

M.O.B.

Specifically, since your being offered contracts in either place I say definitely stay where you at.

If that houston position was perm from jump I'd move there.

I say go for it..you've been in BR all this time..it's time to see the rest of the world..stay in Houston for a few years and see where your next journey takes you,,money can't buy happiness..you don't wanna be stuck in BR

Sounds like you know you want to go to houston but that the right thing to do is stay in BR. You cant negotiate to a higher rate in houston?

Spot on, i can't negotiate a higher rate at this offer in houston but i could probably apply to other jobs there and get hired. Im tired of the whole job search/interview process for now tho.
