It's like these idiots want a 2016 repeat

he actually didn't say that at all. and I hate to actually defend Crime Bill Biden but
The issue is that Joe Biden is a moderate who wants to appeal to both parties. I am more progressive than Biden but obviously there is a difference between a hypothetical and a decision. I can hypothetically say I'm going to be a millionaire in 2020 but that doesn't mean that I have any interest in putting in the work. Additionally, there are Republicans outside of the House and the Senate that aren't pro-Trump. Every state has Governors and Mayors and the more progressive states with Republicans in charge have more progressive policies. What's written in this tweet doesn't contradict the thread/CNN title.
The context doesn't make it a less stupid thing to say btw. Really stupid even as a hypothetical.
"Well, if Republican politicians hypothetically weren't all corrupt Trump supporting white supremacist sympathizers, I would consider one as a running mate" isn't gonna do a good job of encouraging Dems to vote for you.
"No" would've been a simpler, more effective answer.
