John Henson, Muppets puppeteer and son of the late Jim Henson, has died at the age of 48.

The puppeteer passed away on Friday (February 14) from a sudden heart attack.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm that John Henson… died at age 48 of a sudden massive heart attack… while at home with his daughter,” the Jim Henson Company said in a statement on Facebook.

They added, “John served as a shareholder and board member of The Jim Henson Company. He leaves two daughters, Katrina (15) and Sydney(10) and his wife Gyongyi. A private service is being planned.”

TYRONE GA!
Damn, both Jim and now John. How much money did they make off the Disney deal? Hopefully someone in their family can continue the legacy....

sidenote: Did the Disney deal affect Sesame Street?

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Jim Henson's death was very odd, I think it was a Strep Throat. It eventually became Pneumonia and he died, it was VERY sudden.

Yeah, he didn't feel the need to go to the hospital because he felt like it would go away. His last appearance (as himself and as Kermit) was on The Arsenio Hall Show and he died a few days before finalizing a deal with Disney. Have you all ever seen Jim Henson's funeral? One of the most odd yet beautiful memorials that I have seen. You had all of these family and friends there as well as Muppets and many of his other creations. Big Bird sang "It's Not Easy Being Green."

"Thank you, Kermit."
