I only got into college football 5 years ago when I enrolled at UF

College athletes have 4 years of eligibility, but they can "redshirt" / sit out (i.e. still be on the team, but not participate in actual games and still practice) and use that year of eligibility later.

So when you hear an athlete is a 5 year senior, many times it is because they redshirted 1 year and then used their 4 years of eligibility.
