Exactly why I never joined the military. My older sister was stationed in Korea for a few years. She's doing great for her self, but she doesn't even like to speak on her experiences while in the army. She just always told me to never go. And I'm glad I didn't because they're not putting a battery in my back.

If you're going to enlist i'd go in the Navy/Air Force. All branches have the same salary no matter what job you have. No sense in being out in the field for 2 wks while some dude is working a 9-5 in the AC making the same thing.

If you can get commissioned (become an officer) id suck it up and go into the Army if need be. They get paid twice as much as people who enlist and that retirement check is fat as hell

And idk why people think if you're in the Army you'll automatically see combat when you're deployed..My pops was in for 22 yrs. Dude handled fuel for all the vehicles. All he did when he was deployed was supply fuel for tanks, and still got hazard duty pay

I was enlisted first, then got commissioned. Now I'm a O3-E getting paid stupid. Been in almost 11 years, Army.

I love it, got certs and all that shyt.

Did some other cool shyt like blow shyt up (people too, but that's not really cool, know what I mean). After I got done with combat arms, I moved into IT in the Army were I racked them certs up. Now I'm on easy street. I'm at fort Gordon. Hopefully, when I retire, the next day I will come back and work in the same job but as a DA civilian.

A lot of young adults join the military because they can't find employment

It`s fukked up out here, the economy and job market are at a low. You have to employ yourself these days. But that`s the best way to go. I don't like to work for anybody. The best feeling in the world is to be SELF MADE.

Although I agree with above guy why people think if you join the army it means you are on the front lines baffles me

Sure all trades train basic soldiering but 90% will never see action outside of a drunk bar fight

what is it about the army and dudes raping each other? some dude from my school was completely straight before he joined army. now hes a complete savage with no regard for anybody. like he was hard before he joined the army. but now its just on another level. hes a rapist. like he rapes men. i think hes in military prison right now. i dunno i try to avoid him at all costs.
