I dont know much about coasties, never really worked around them. I would imagine it being better than the Navy, but I've heard they have high standards (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
I tell EVERYBODY I know, join Air Force unless you have a legit reasons not to. It's by far has the highest moral of any branch I've seen (Navy has the lowest IMO, and I know this because I worked joint-military for like 5 years).
No branch is bad if you know what you want and have goals.
You want a variety of training, rank up quick but not get shot at? Join Navy (you deal with a lot of petty ass people and dumb shyt, A lot of crabs in the barrel, admin usually sucks, etc)
You wanna feel like you're a bad-ass immediately, join Marines (you deal with a lot of stupid shyt too, and some motherfukkers aren't all there mentally)
You want variety of training, cash, rank fast and don't care about being deployed or shot at, Join Army (also deal with a lot of dumb shyt)
You want to be an expert in a specific job field, have more options, don't mind being stationed in the middle of no where, and to be treated like an intelligent human being, then join Air Force. There's dumb shyt too, but there dumb shyt makes some sense). Even if you go through shyt it just feels like shyt is ok... Only problem is the rank up really slow.
All of this is my opinion, and There are pros and cons to any branch and it really depends on the path u take inside, but just know that as I write this I'm sitting on an air force base, in ac, with a couple nice looking Air Force white breezys, chillin. I like the way AF handles business
