GOP followers are a bunch of emotionally-charged sheep. Facts don't matter to those idiots. All that matters is what makes them feel good or reinforces their myopic views.
But a lot of people are too attached to nostalgia to begin with and look at the past with rose tinted glasses. They think everything was better back in the day, even though statistics show that crime was much worse back in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The only reason crime even spiked in 2020 was because of the pandemic and it's been decreasing ever since. And even at its peak, it wasn't sniffing the numbers MFs were putting up in the 70s and 80s. Imagine a pandemic happening in the crack era.

Crime has been down overall for years. Covid created a spike in crime but we're pretty much back to the rates we were at over the last decade or so.
I won't be clicking though. Stewart coming back is funny because he kinda birthed the smart guy liberal shyt where you "well actually" republicans and expect them to fall to their knees and apologize for being wrong. In reality they don't give a shyt about lying, and the public's reception to them largely hinges on whether they like the president or not. A lot of stuff that wasn't effective for republicans during Obama's later years work now because people dislike Biden. It's easier to convince people the sky is green right now on a lot of things.

Their shootings are apparently different and noble because they're rural salt of the earth conservative cacs exercising the 2nd and their drug use and debauchery is different because they're sick and not fiends..most cops are killed by cacs anyway too
