Excellent interview

@wire28
I'll watch later today when i get a second.

Edit: @Darth Humanist

Nothing new or that I haven't heard before. Again for the most part I agree with basically everything including ending corruption, blah blah blah. Still weak on what is going to happen when the entities he is going after don't wave the "white towel".

We all know they aren't and things will get very messy and when they do how he is going to give all the "free" things he is campaigning for.

There will be a domino effect and it's too pie in the sky to think everything on that end will run smoothly. There will be repercussions, they aren't going to willingly hand over their money. If a large part of his economic plan is dependent on getting all this money from the top, if that doesn't work out/takes a while (which it most likely will) what happens to the country in the meantime? Maybe in time he will elaborate on his plans if/when Wall Street and the billionaires fight back but as of now it is still thin in that aspect and that's where my reservations lie with him as a candidate in regards to economic issues.

You sound like you scared of the bankers.

They eat because WE ALLOW them to eat. If we don't want them to eat, they get no ribs no champagne no nothing :stopitslime:

I sound like I expect them to put up a fight like anyone would do when their lifestyle is threatened and what happens to Bernies economic plan (which depends solely on getting exactly what he wants) while that takes place.

So far the only answers have been lack luster and defensive.

I'm not scared of the bankers.

I'm scared of the scapegoating of a nuanced problem that comes down to enforcement, not additional regulation.

The SEC is actually understaffed. Literally.

And on top of that, the "finance industry" is massive and theres aspects that go beyond being an investment banker or hedge funder. Theres back office people who are not responsible for the dealings of a few bad players.

But no.

The average person doesn't understand this and thinks that the most successful industry and hallmark of capitalism and economic empowerment in the West (I know ya'll have pensions) and the model for growth around the world is going to become this ire of the common man who doesn't understand how the world works?

Yeah, thats just lazy and its what i utterly HATE about how loose Bernie is with his language.

I'd like to hear Bernie speak more about getting organized labor back on its feet. He would need a more organized and militant working-class to achieve these reforms. Hopefully it would be a feedback loop where his election spurs hope and confidence in the working-class and the class, in fighting for its interests, generates the consciousness and support needed to get the reforms done.
