Washington Capitals forward Joel Ward has a knack for scoring big goalsin the playoffs.
The 34-year-old lived up to his reputation on Wednesday, as he potted the winning tally in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals with two seconds left in regulation — stunning the Rangers faithful and giving the Caps a 1-0 series lead.

As the overhead angle shows, Ward's shot crossed the goal line with plenty of time to spare.

I caught the game with 11min left in the 3rd period. Caps were up 1-0
I switch back to the NFL Draft.. turn back and its 3min left and the Rangers just scored

For some reason, I felt the Caps would eek out a last second goal. Saw NY keeping the puck out of their zone.
But then they made an icing error. And even though they won the faceoff, it was pretty much the end of the game right there.

Then Alexander Ovechkin was hustling more than everyone else on the ice. Basically was looking like Atlanta vs. Brooklyn game 6. Roughed a hockey equiv of a rebound. Was gonna try a wrap around the net (which they was ready for) and Ovie then flips the puck to Joel Ward in a sneaky ass fashion.

I didn't see the pass live it was so damn sneaky :wow:

Good guys win with 1.3sec to spare. DC might have themselves multiple champions this year. 3 to 5 titles in one year? TBC...
