"Jordan Peterson has a great question for those who deny IQ: If you could choose for your child to have an IQ of 60 or 140, which would you pick? Even the most diehard egalitarian cannot say in his heart that he wouldn't want the latter.".

IQ measures limited aspects of logico-mathematical and linguistical intelligence.

If I could choose for my child to perform better in the aspects of intelligence measured by IQ, I would, just as I would choose for my child to have a better vertical. It is a rational choice to make.

This question does not attack or even make buldge any of the criticism made against IQ testing, and paradoxically, would be considered as low-IQ reasoning.

The reality is that IQ scores:
A) measure developed skills, not native intelligence.
B) can change dramatically.
C) don't say anything about a person's intellectual limits.

That’s because IQ has proven to be an accurate indicator of ability and comprehension at lower levels, but doesn’t successfully correlate to anything at higher levels.

Basically, IQ can measure retardation and nothing else.

Having 60 IQ is meaningful. Having 140 IQ is not.

Do people with high IQ make more money? Apparently not.

Do people with high IQ do better in school? Again, apparently not.

Do people with high IQ at least commit less crime? Sadly, the statistics don’t support that.

Once people pass a certain benchmark (say 100 IQ) having a high IQ hasn’t been proven to be meaningful in any way, which calls into question the entire measurement

When people, especially right wingers obsess about IQ you already know where they're going with it: Eugenics.

Yall want to know the secret of racism? The thing that nearly every single white person knows but will rarely if ever admit?

In an equal playing field, they have the potential to get absolutely destroyed. So they need handicaps.

Standardized tests are often culturally biased and in reality a poor measurement of ones ability to think critically and problem solve with creativity in a dynamic situation with changing and uncertain variables. As another poster said, IQ is a good means of measuring whether someone has a disability, but not an accurate way of measuring the kind of intelligence that actually matters in the long term.

The IQ test is such a true indicator of intelligence it can be gamed by high level skills like taking the test fast. Everybody in the know treats that test like the culturally biased bs it is and use it in conjunction with other tests. Notice most of the nationalists that cling to it aren't the most educated themselves.
