I don't think I could have made the QMJHL but I was decent enough to play 2nd line minutes. I quit hockey at 13 because I was tired of being the only black kid on team.

To this day, I still can't believe Anthony Stewart didn't become a star power forward in the NHL, he dominated in the World Juniors. Meanwhile his younger bro took a few years off to try and make in football and he's currently an established NHLer.

He was lazy, he tore it up one year in atlanta and that was it, but I remember those world junior teams with him and nigel dawes I thought they were going to be next but both turned out to be busts.

Tim Brent
Jeff Carter
Anthony Stewart
Ryan Getzlaf
Daniel Paille
Mike Richards
Jeff Tambellini
Jeremy Colliton
Brent Burns
Stephen Dixon
Maxime Talbot
Nigel Dawes
Sidney Crosby

i mean look at that roster, and stewart and dawes were the best players

Agreed, he's a smart kid to. Speaks many languages. Would be a far cry from the dull douchebaggy meatheads that many of the hardcore fans drool over.

I remember when I first started watching hockey, interviews with Gretzky, Yzerman, and Sakic were painful to watch. Cliche after cliche in a boring robotic tone. I'd be watching this shyt like "Where are the Deion Sanders' and Shaqs?"

I was really pulling for Dawes when the Habs signed him a few years ago, but it didn't work out. He was just another undersized player when he was here. We had Shawn Belle for a bit, but he didn't have the talent to stick. I thought Georges Laraque was gonna be a hit here too, but his ailing back gave out, he's great in the media though. :salute:

forgot about shawn belle another bust

montreal is tied with calgary as being second to edmonton in terms of giving brothers a chance

slather and lowe have given more brothers a chance in the nhl than any other, i think like 75% of black dudes to ever play in the nhl wore a oilers jersey at some point

Since I've been watching, we've had Donald Brashear, Francis Bouillon, Shawn Belle, Nigel Dawes, Georges Laraque, and PK Subban

Props to the Oliers, I loved that team that had Laraque, Carter, and Grier.

:pacspit: at former Leafs owner Conn Smythe BTW, they need to erase his stench from their history. And this fakkit has a trophy named after him too.

Bouillion? Lets be real. No one knows he's part black. He doesn't count. I get your point, though.

T.O.
Every place is racist somewhat, but Canada is nowhere on the level as the USA.

I've been to vancouver and I was treated great, better than I was in toronto, I was shocked for a city with only like 1.5% black folks how minus the odd stares people were friendly as hell. Whites, indians, chinese, you go to many cities with that small amount of black people and you looking over your shoulder.

But yeah its just comments like this, and like darren pang saying the white way, or banana thrown on the ice etc. that just reminds you that sometimes it ain't all sweet.

Darren Pang is american...
