I find this unsettling. Nothing new here if you're into this subject, but just the sheer scale of what's out there is chilling.
And it goes back to: how did this get here? The Big Bang theory has holes in it which JWST is exposing (galaxies that are older than the supposed age of the Universe).
Empty space goes on for infinity and there is an unknown amount of matter which extends beyond where we can even detect it.. ever. Light will not be able to reach us from beyond a certain distance since the Universe "is expanding" faster than light....
Ugh
To me this is the new mythology. Some day we may understand exactly what this all is but for now it's a miracle.
