Young wrestling fans have no idea how hated JR was in the business before he stuck in WWE. I was reading some old observers from around when JR was fired from the WWF for the first time in 1994, and Dave flat out said that there was a 0.0% chance of him going back to WCW because he'd basically pissed off everyone there. Dude had legit radioactive heat by the time he went to the WWF.
It's so funny listening to him now, because you can clearly see why he was so hated when he goes on one of his indignant little rants on the podcast (still a great listen though).

JR is a coward and always has been. He has all of this smoke for a dead man, but was quiet as a church mouse when Vince was humiliating him for being a fat and disfigured Okie. His wife cried because of the heinous stuff Vince did, but he probably won’t pop off until Vince is 6 feet deep. There’s nothing Warrior could have done that was worse than this...

The Warrior was a right wing racist, homophobic, unprofessional piece of shyt. Its ironic they have a humanitarian award named after him.
Plenty of opinion pieces from him are still out there for those curious to know his views.
I hate that he died like that, but Warrior was not a good person.
I saying this and I was huge fan of him as a child, I loved his gimmick.
