J.R. Smith said he hopes to re-sign with the Cavs 'soon,' but there's a catch

Smith is believed to be looking for approximately $15 million per season. The Cavs would likely prefer a shorter contract. The Cavs gave Smith a two-year, $10 million contract with a player's option for the second season prior to the 15-16 campaign. That was after Smith declined a $6.4 million option on his previous contract.

I hear the European league calling

Teams still don't believe this nikka attitude to give him that much

I say minimum he gets 8 or 9 million

Mozgov got more than that from the Lakers:mjlol:

Which is exactly why the Cavs need to stop playing & give that man his money. It's kind of weird that LeBron made sure everybody else was taken care of, but is not forcing the Cavs hand on bringing back JR. I would love to have him back with the Knicks, but Phil Jax isn't having that.

He'll get it within a week of media day. Not sure why the Cavs and Rich feel the need to do this dance every year. Has anyone else even made him an offer?
