Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry, where he discusses the lack of main event depth in WWE. Here are the highlights…

With the overall lack of main event depth in WWE these days, now would be the perfect time to get someone on a roll...attempt to get them hot and see if the individual can connect with the audience. One can always audible out of it but this matter can't be determined in a few weeks no matter how sage like some feel that they may be in determining such.

It's a process that is largely determined by the live audience's reaction over time.

All sports, or entertainment, fans want to support the 'stars' and 'stars,' IE heroes, and all have similar traits. They win more than they lose, they somehow eventually overcome when the odds are the greatest against them and they never quit. All these traits endears them to the audience. Fans can identify with winning. Loses become significant moments and not every other week occurrences.

50/50 booking helps NO one.

Those trying to re-invent the "booking" wheel and who refuse or simply ignore basic psychology and human emotions are foolish or naive or...gasp... egomaniacal.

Box office receipts and PPV numbers should convince any one who professes that the fine line between good and evil need not exist.

It's the Austin dilemma. One he established the Attitude Era, what it meant really, was the Real Era. It was like opening Pandora's Box, there were no Bad Guys or Good Guys. They were real people, and trying to go back to Superhero gimmicks could no longer apply. Its why Cena cannot get a total face reaction, a ton of his persona is steeped in being a Superhero rather than being a tough son of a bytch.

I dont think its a matter of good guys vs bad guys more so a matter of giving people a reason to care about the wrestlers and stopping the half pushes.

Cena the only guy that doesnt get booked badly and he's also the only bonafide "draw"(for lack of a better term) on the roster

They need Cena to be forced to go away for a year, like Hulk Hogan in 92, then and only then will they give someone else a real chance

No, they don't. They need to stop relying on Cena as a crutch they can always fall back on and stop playing Red Light/Green Light when they push their talent

They won't stop doing it until he's gone. It's a paradox where they consider Cena the only full time individual draw, but he's the only one that they push to that level long term.

Maaaan, that shyt ain't true.

I mean I get what you're saying, but the "there was no good guys or bad guys" is kind of overblown. there were CLEARLY guys meant to be booed and meant to be cheered. You had your Austin type character that crossed over doing heelish things, but the rest of 'em? Rock was largely popular due to his interaction with the crowd, Mankind was a goofy good guy who drew sympathy, DX (as faces) used humor and catchphrases... the heels were coming out, shytting on the crowd, kissin' McMahon's ass... it's not like they just let muhfukkas go out there with no clear distinction as to what they were supposed to do...

He needs to talk to hhh who apparently still thinks what's best for business is him looking good . Punk was poised to maybe be the real break out guy and hhh decided to randomly get himself and Kevin Nash involved with and actually going over him . Now he's involved himself in a self serving storyline with dbry. Even if he wins the belt the damage has been done to his credibility

And who's fault is that? :usure:
