Shan denied getting on Symphony because he said he wasn't going to get paid and told Marly Marl to go sucker them newer dudes into doing it.

GOAT posse song. Unbelievable that although it came out in '89 the four of them didn't perform it together live for the first time until 2014.

Shan been telling that story since I was a kid.

Truth is, Shan ain't NEVER have the bars to be on a track like "The Symphony". Nobody wanted to see him on there, lol.

I can vaguely remember Shan saying they wanted him on it but didn’t feel the beat

Shan have a weird sense of his place in hip-hop

And it’s always about morels on why he didn’t do things

It's jealousy.

He was local, so Marley boosted him. But once Cold Chillin' started looking at Kane, Biz and G Rap, etc, Shan was over. Marley kept going and Shan got left behind because he wasn't as talented as these new dudes. He always likes to say slick sh*t about why he wasn't on records, but truth is, they didn't need him or want him. They had a staple of next-level talent in the newer generation, Shan was done after Down by Law.

Shan was on the original symphony aka "juice crew all stars" the real GOAT posse cut

"Juice Crew all stars" was a MUCH stronger record released at the very height of the juice crew ruling Hip-Hop
MC Shan being THE emcee at one point(and LL biting the ever living fukk outta him) has basically been erased from history

I completely understand why Shan didn't give a fukk about the symphony but the symphony had a video and thats what people remember/know about

Shan was on some a$$hole shyt back then and fronted on the 'new nikkas' between treating his own crew like shyt
and losing the battle to Kris people like shytting on Shan but he was dumb nice and his first two albums are classics
