Yeah I kinda know what you mean, I still enjoy Ras but its never gonna be another Soul On Ice, the incarcerations and being on the run and label bullshyt threw off all his momentum and he never got back to his full capabilities. Hes shown moments of greatness on pretty much every project hes released but I'll agree he hasn't had a full body of work that's of the same calibre as his first 2.5 albumsThere's something off with his flow now.
I can't figure out what it is, but he doesn't sound as technically sound as he used to, from like '94-'98.
After the second album, he started really dumbing his sh*t down to the point where it seemed like he was more focused on making catchy sh*t, than having those verses you had to listen to 372 times to catch all the lines. Ras was so ill early on. Dude's just fallen off beyond recovery now, it seems.
It's a quick listen but enjoyable, Ras needs to do what Daz had done and just make a 1000 records and just stockpile the best and put together a solid, cohesive body of work.Im in
