That shyt was terrible.

It was like a bad episode of In Living Color. Especially when Chadwick was playing old James Brown.


The only good thing about this movie was Craig Robinson performance.

They went from 1971 to 1993 in a 20 mins span.

They didn't develop the story at all.........

Nothing like CADILLAC RECORDS or RAY....

These music bios were lengthy and detailed for a reason cause the subjects had a very prolific career

The same with James Brown he deserved better

im mad at the fact that they just show a joint and some coke on the table and hint at his drug use.

i kinda enjoyed the actor that played little richard.

chadwick was alright during the performances. had the voice down.but the story just showed bad shyt happening. then a happy moment. and so on. nothing flowed. so he just leaves his old girl and theres no conflict around that? its just mentioned like someone just left and went to the store.

I felt bad because Chadwick Boseman actually did a very good job, actually the acting in general was quite good, everyone put up very good performances but the movie was rushed and didn't really touch the level of artist that James Brown was also, James Brown was the epitome of HOH. It should not have been PG-13 and it probably should have been an HBO miniseries, they have been on a roll with the Black movies as of late.

The acting was great, but the script/story was void of any substance, which is is shame considering who it was based on. It still wasn't as bad as the Jimi Hendrix biopic (another case of good acting, bad story) with 3 Stacks though .
