Just for the GODDAMN record, this 2nd Carrie remake is TRASH

1. How the hell they start the damn movie with "the period" scene?, that shyt happened at least halfway through the original

2.You couldn't feel no sympathy for the Carrie character because they just thrust her as some supposed outcast with no building of the character at all, not to mention the chick they got doesnt even look like no damn social outcast, infact she looks like she'd fit right in with the "mean" girls.

3. The sonning that the brunette chicks dad got in the og and even the 1st carrie remake was so much more thorough.

4.The gym teacher looked like a fukking student instead of a grown ass woman.

It just felt like the "lifetime" version of carrie instead of the potential it had, you'd think in 2013 a carrie movie would've been off the meat rack, but no it's status AND i aint even pay to see it.

Dude, the period scene happened in the beginning during the shower scene...did you see the original recently?

this I agree with. Sissy Spacek looked like a lost fawn...this girl was not a good choice physically to be Carrie

You know what you're right about the period scene, I was thinking of the 1st remake which the period scene was later in the movie

Yeah it was trash. The mother was just as creepy as the one in the original, but I couldn't take the Carrie character seriously, especially after seeing her in Kick Ass 2.

The prom scene was extremely underwhelming too. It just sucked and didn't even have that much blood in it.

shyt was weak. Carrie 2 was better than this.

Not to contradict you because I think the remake was weak but the period scene happened early in the original film too and Judy Greer (who played the gym teacher) looks old as fukk in the face.

You really can't compare the two SHining movies because they are basically two distinct entities just because Kubrick took many (many!) liberties with King's book while the 1997 TV miniseries stuck close to the source material and was actually good for a TV miniseries.
The only problem with the 1997 TV Shining was the kid they cast to play Danny:
