I think you read too much into what he said. do you have an existing beef with that poster?

I think he's just referring to the north-south rivalry. You are reading between lines that don't exist. I'm from Atlanta, and even I'm aware they use to call us Bamas as an insult before the city got popping.


Even though Georgia and Texas (and maybe North Carolina) upped their game since the late 00s, let's not pretend that the rest of South is a bastion of literacy or the center of American civilization. I mean for God sake, places like Biloxi or Birmingham or Little Rock rank among the worst in the country in every positive metric. Even slightly better places like Memphis or Charleston aren't doing that well when compared to Northern or western rivals. But I must admit Nashville is having a glow up due to recent shipping industry investment.


Yes black people originated from the South, but the great migration was more than a hundred years ago. With the exception of a handful of extended family, many black people from Oakland or Boston or LA or Chicago or Detroit or Minneapolis or New York don't have some deep spiritual connection with the south.
