...unless you are a power user. I used to upgrade my phone every year until I got my OnePlus 6T. I've been rolling with that for 5 years without issues until recently. I wanted to wait it off until the Pixel 7 but I realized it's not worth the extra $ for a high-end phone. I don't game and barely take any photos / video. I mainly use it for YouTube, Discord and going on sites. The only real requirement I had going into it was 5G. I went ahead and got a OnePlus n20 5G for under $280. Beautiful phone but made of plastic but I put a case on it anyway. I got a headphone jack, expanded memory, 5G and a AMOLED display for under $280. No reason why I see so many people even older people rocking $1000 phones and isn't doing anything more than what I'm doing with it.

I just need unlimited mobile internet and like 30 text messages a month and 30 mins talk time and I'm gucci. I don't talk on my phone for more than 60 seconds like 3 times a month. My phone bill is 80 but when you look at my breakdowns it's stupid.

Had my last phone for like 4 years, plan on keeping this one for at least that long too.
Don't even make sense to upgrade every year anymore. Used to be free with your contract, or heavily discounted. Companies have you paying $500+ now to upgrade.
It's the way to go. Ride it out till it's dead. These high end phones are like $50 a month for 2 years after paying for the down payment. It's financially irresponsible.

Very similar approach for me as well. How is the battery for your OnePlus? I'm planning on replacing my phone with something newer and like you said, I always buy midtier/budget phone's upfront, too. I'll never do contracts.

My OP6T was the best battery on a phone I ever had. The fast charging OnePlus has is a beast. So far I'm on my 2nd day with this phone and battery has been excellent. The real test would be 5 months from now but from my past experiences with OP the battery doesn't lose much charge. This N20 came with a 33w brick in the box but haven't used it yet.
