for the past two years all ive wanted to do is move away from backward ass pittsburgh.

preferably to NYC or San Diego. Problem is i dont have it in me to move to either of these places without having a job lined up and i havent had any luck with that.

any of you brehs gone through this process? any advice or suggestion for a brehbreh?

i moved to new orleans without a job and only knowing one person in town (a girl i use to go to college with, i stayed with her for a couple of weeks while i looked for my own house). i had a few thousand dollars saved to keep me on my feet for half a year. flash forward two years later, i'm playing regularly (almost everyday) and making more money than i would have if i stayed in north carolina. i've had a host of other opportunities line up for me while i've been living here, and all that came from taking a chance. that's not to say everyone's going to be successful but what are your options if you don't try? it's healthy to take chances while you still can. and, as long as you properly prep yourself. you just have to be prepared to hustle if you do just up and decide to move without anything lined up...

I'm trying to do the same thing now with moving to San Diego or LA by the end of August (my rental lease expires at August). I just need to get a job transfer within my company and I be good. But my company doesn't have shyt for me down there right now and I starting to feel stress too that I may have to move without a job. Just keep grinding and hope that something works out. Also visit there before hand to make sure that you can see yourself down there for a period of time and have some money to hold you down for a couple of month if you can't find something. My boy is doing this. He's moving to San Francisco. No job. Only about 2 months of savings. I'd much rather he and I go half on a 2 bedroom here in the city but he's on a spirit quest.

I understands how he feels with the spirit quest. I hope that he has a back up plan if shyt doesn't work out down there.

i have got a few grand now im hoping to get to about 10 by the end of the summer and move. but i hope i have something lined up by then. i dont think i have it in me to really to just get up and go. im to afraid to end up

I did this in the past and for whatever reason I missed everyone and came back. Soon I'm moving away from everything and everyone again and just being an island. I'll either move to NYC or LA. Leave everything (for the most part) behind.

Been wanting to do this since I was 16. I'm kind of scared, but I want to one day pack up and move to Italy, Argentina, brazil, or maybe Spain. Idk where yet but I know I want to do it.

I have several times. BOS, MIA, NYC but I know people in those places so that helps line something up.

I've met a couple of artists who done exactly that.
Met one who dropped out of school in FL, I think, was homeless drawing people in the subways and parks, eventually sketching a girl who shortly became his gf, and started getting featured in exhibits. Last time I saw him, all his pieces were basically portraits dedicated to his gf.
