in Manhattan there is a Trader Joe's that sells food right next door to a Trader Joe's that only sells wine and champagne.

I’m aware of the geography. Ive lived here for 35 years. No one from LI says that they live in Long Island. People from Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and other states often say it. But no one who is from here does. No one!
