Yo @BrothaZay can you give me any advice on the melodies and how to mix the various instruments ( like what sounds good with flute for example) with the drums and the other shyt I have no problem.But when I have to compose melody for the beat and choose instruments which sound good together I'm like

I think the bass drowns out the instruments. Also, i think this melody would be done better justice with a more dynamic bassline. This sound like a Lil B beat right now. Its enjoyable though still.

It nice as is except it shouldn't have a lot of low-end on tracks that are meant to be sung on. I do not feel comfortable with calling this R&B, though.

Bass is a little overpowering, and the issue with the hats is the cutoff, the transition doesn't sound natural.(2 Open Hats?) Strong melody, and good record though. Especially if it's ya first attept at this style. Bravo
