So ever since this thread
Finally shaved my head....
I’ve been shaving my head. Well I got a meeting for a job I might possibly get next year overseas coming up so I wanted to get my beard lined up and crispy. But then I thought why not grow my hair out a lil and see if I can get that crispy as well.
So for about 3 weeks I didn’t shave my head, just let it naturally grow out. Had a small fro-ish looking thing going on (For what I do I rarely see but a few people so I don’t have to care about a haircut really)
So I scheduled an appointment last week at the most exclusive black barber I could find in the area. Dude was booked for like a week and a half. It was $50 just to book it.
I get there and the place is CLEAN. I’m talking the atmosphere was modern but vintage. Blues playing in the background... No kids, no long ass line, no playstations or football on the TV. Grown man shyt.
Dude proceeds to cut my hair in private for almost an hour in a half. We talk about grown man shyt, no sports, not about Jordan’s (not saying he couldn’t be interested in those things, it just never came up). He wasn’t hustling TV’s, weed, or Amazon fire-sticks our the back of the store.
Gave me a hot towel n shave that was
I didn’t see another soul until about 5 minutes until I was done.
Basically, only thing I’m more upset about is that I didn’t always go there. Probably one of the best cuts I’ve had in life. Definitely the best cut experience I’ve had recently. I think at a certain stage, age, and income in life, people should be willing to pay for good quality and service.
I still might keep shaving my head tho but if not, I’m only going there (well if I’m not working full time overseas)
